The aim of the Ka-xiong Valley School Project is to offer educational programs that will inspire students to become enthusiastic about the process of learning, to use their education for the betterment of their native communities, and to become leaders in their communities, pointing the way to increased peace, happiness and well-being for others.  In particular, the project will:

□ Provide an exceptional bi-lingual (Tibetan and Chinese) education for Tibetan Nomad children regardless of sex or economic status. Since Chinese is the official language of China, the more advanced one wants to be either in scholarly or material matters, the use of Chinese is essential. This does not mean that we advocate that Tibetan students should abandon their native language, but that we realize the skills necessary to give them a “cutting edge” in the reality of today’s Tibet. The students will also receive a foundation course in English via computer learning and visits of native English teachers.

□    Help children develop the qualities of loving-kindness, compassion, a sense of universal responsibility and ethical values.

□    In the future offer community education programs for adults promoting literacy, good health, hygiene and environmental awareness.
